This season we are pleased to have monthly in-house competitions as a resourse for our fencers to work on their fencing and refereeing in a more competitive atmosphere, and also to work on their referee skills.

The entry fee is $15, the same as for Division events. This first time, the event will be mixed. That is, men and women will be fencing together. Future events may have different parameters.

Fencers will wear standard equipment just as in Division or National events.

WEAR LONG (knee length) SOCKS!!

That is: Jacket
            Underarm protector
            Fencing Knickers
            Long socks
            Mask
            Glove
            Lamé

Some of the rules will be more lax. For example, the club cannot provide enough equipment for every fencer to have two working weapons and two working body-cords, so that will not be required.

The event will be self-refereed. No, this does not mean you get to call your own actions! It means that another competing fencer will act as referee for you, and you will later act as referee for someone else. This is a chance to develop your referee skills in a relatively low-stress atmosphere.

Everything will go smoother if people pre-register (see below), this allows Doug to do some of the administrative work ahead of time, and means you needn't wait in line so long upon arrival at the club. Registration will open at 9:00am, and will CLOSE at 10:00am so be sure to show up early. Besides, you neeed the extra time to suit up and warm up.

Payment at the door is acceptable with no surcharge (this time) but pre-payment is easier.
