February Vacation Adventure

This was our first camp in the Worcester Fencing Club's new space on Stafford Street. Doug had only just managed to finish installing the floor before camp started. We used a space in another part of the building to give the movie a look different from our other movies.

The story for Sword of Lightning, Sword of Thunder is darker and more of a drama than our previous films. Still the campers had lots of fun with the story, and the fights.

How much fun was this camp?  Circle one.

All circled "Hugely fun."

Would you do this camp again?  Why or why not?

i.            Yes—fun, and excellent stress relief.

ii.        YES!! It was so much fun, I got to make new friends and learn acting along with fencing.

iii.       YES!  It was amazing.  Period.

iv.       Of course.  Making movies is awesome.

v.         I would do this again because it was Hugely fun to make the movie and to dress up and learn all the moves.  I can't wait to see the finished film.

vi.       Yes because it was awesomely fun.

vii.      Yes.  I would like to make a new video and possibly learn more stage techniques.

COMMENTS ON THE WEEK AS A WHOLE.

Please add any additional comments from the questions above here.

Also—and this is the most important part—feel free to tell us everything here:  what worked, what didn't, what we can do better in the future, ways to publicize the camps next time, etc., etc., etc.  Be honest and constructive.  We thank you for your insights!
ii.        All I have to say is…AWESOME CAMP!!!

iii.            Fencing Camp '08=LOVE.

iv.       Sorry I'm pressed for time.

v.         I definitely liked the learning about the moves as well as the filming.  The costumes were so much fun.  I definitely would have loved to spend some time on our actual fencing, especially because I have not had as much experience with that as others (foil, sabre, epee).  Zorro and Cyrano were my favorite films.  Leaning about making films and editing would be great.  I had a lot of fun and hop to do it again.  Thank you!

vi.            Totally one of the best camps I have ever been to.  I would definitely do it again.  All the kids were really cool.  I enjoyed the crew for filming.

vii.      Very good time.  Would have liked to work a little more.  Learned to use some more weapons.  Maybe learned some more about film production.

  1. How does this experience compare with other February vacations you have attended?   I.e., was it better, worse, more fun, less fun, etc.?  Please explain.

i.            Better—smaller group, cooler material…and an awesome coach.

ii.        It was better than the other camp I went to.  Here you focus on one idea by playing different games and it's fencing themed!!  I [heart] fencing.

iii.       It was more fun, in its own way.  On other vacations I get to laze around and basically do what I want, but jumping around and working was also extremely cool.

iv.       I don't go on vacation on February break.

v.         Most February vacations I don't do anything exciting except regular stuff around Worcester.  This was a lot of fun and was much better than staying at home.

vi.       I haven't been to other February camps but I think it would be more fun because we get to design our own fights.

vii.      Just as good as other vacations.  While I didn't travel as much, it was just as fun.
